Autumn Is Here

Autumn always takes me back to September 1994 when I first arrived in Oxford as a young girl to start my first term at boarding school.  Having come from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where the climate is hot and humid all year round it was a wonderful contrast for me to see the beauty of the leaves falling from the trees - from yellow to red, to orange, brown and gold. They lined the ground on my way to school. I can still feel the way they made a rustle underneath my clunky school lace ups.

Today, living in London, the best place to enjoy the beauty of Autumn is Hyde Park where the leaves themselves are an attraction in every shade, size and shape.  My favourite shades of this time of the year are the red and golden tones. There is something magical about this time of the year as this quote by Emily Bronte summarises -

"Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree".

This feast for the eyes presented by mother nature is captured by the tones in the Autumn pieces seen above in rose gold and black rhodium plated sterling silver.
